Low voltage controls must be monitored for electrical safety 24/7. After all, an electrical fault will pose a significant risk in terms of downtime and can become a potential fire hazard. At the same time, sudden service intervention can be expensive and time consuming. For this reason, insurance bodies often request condition monitoring systems from their clients. Such a system, like the Bender ground fault monitoring and detection unit will provide a clear overview of the plants electrical health and provide all the relevant data needed for supervision and maintenance.
Continuous ground-fault monitoring of de-energized loads plays a decisive role in damage prevention. Crane systems, fire extinguisher pumps, pusher drives, etc. are often only used occasionally or in an emergency - but that is exactly when they need to work flawlessly. Bender offline ISOMETER®s permanently monitor de-energized systems, reporting ground faults early and thus providing perfect protection against critical situations.
The VMD258 analog voltage relay monitors three phase AC systems for under and over voltages (window function) It’s internals are based on analog technology and omit the use of a microprocessor, which makes this relay suitable for nuclear and some demanding military applications. The auxiliary voltage supply can be derived from the system to be monitored. Both, system and supply are separated by a dual layer of insulation for additional internal safety and reliability. Special filter chokes dampen potential electronic noise stemming from the monitored power system. The response values for under and overvoltage and also for time response delays can be adjusted to varying levels.
