An oil rig has working production systems which normally produce around the clock and should not be shut down due to minor electrical faults. The use of ungrounded systems (floating systems) with appropriate monitoring devices from Bender ISOMETER® can guarantee this. Personal protection must also be ensured in the accommodation and supply units. This involves, for example, monitoring with RCMS residual current systems which allow the fastest possible warning and shutdown. All system data can be transferred to a central control point.
A Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit (FPSO) is a ship used for extraction, storage and offloading of petroleum and natural gas. In offshore operations, FPSOs are used because they obviate the need of constructing a complicated, expensive pipeline infrastructure to the extraction site. Bender kits out these ships with the appropriate ISOMETER® technology to ensure maximum safety.
